Beloved Husband, Brother, and Friend departed to meet Jesus on December 16, 2024. Evert, as he was know to everyone, was born in Colorado on August 28, 1977 but was a life long Bishop resident and spent most of his life on the Bishop Paiute Reservation. Evert loved fishing and all the wonderful outdoor activities the valley has to offer. He loved his family dearly and loved holidays. He had a way of making every family gathering special with his contagious laughter and happy, bouncy personality. He was an accomplished bead artist and loved any craft project. Evert was a true salesman and talented tradesman. He always had time to help a friend or family member. Evert is survived by numerous family, friends, and his beloved dogs, Bongo and Riptide. He will never be forgotten and will always be loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in the peace of Jesus Evert. Funeral Services for Evert will be held on January 10th, 11:00 AM at Brune Mortuary. Burial will be Saturday, Jan...

Ian Chance Snyder Obituary Ian Chance Snyder was born in Bishop, California on May 24, 1985 and passed away in Bishop on December 24, 2024 leaving behind his family and friends who loved him so much.  Growing up in Bishop Ian was raised with a great love for the outdoors, he was passionate about hunting, fishing, golfing, and skiing.  He spent the majority of his youth exploring the Owens Valley from one end to the other on dirt roads, hiking trails, and ski runs, tempting fate with his sense of adventure and eye for a little mischief.   His passion for hunting and fishing was something he enjoyed sharing with his nephews as often as he could.  Taking them to the areas he hunted and fished as a kid was one of his greatest joys, and the pride he took in being an uncle was unmatched. Aside from his adventures in the outdoors, Ian had another passion in life and that was work.  Following in his father's and grandfather's footsteps, Ian spent many years working in the road construc...

The Bishop Boys Varsity Basketball Team faced off against the Templeton Eagles yesterday at 3 pm at the Gus Glekas gym here in Bishop in a non league matchup. It was a back and forth game for the first half with both teams trading baskets but the Eagles went on a run in the second quarter fueled by the Broncos turnovers on offense and went in with a lead over the. Broncos 31-23. The second half was much of the same trading baskets and the Broncos just couldn’t dig out of the hole we dug in the first half and fell to the Eagles 59-45. The Broncos were led on scoring by Emory Dondero with 18 points, followed by Richie Talavera with 9 points, Chris Charley had 6 points, Sophomore Dom Dondero with 5 points, Sophomore Devaun Mitchell with 4 and Carlos Sualez added 2. The Broncos get a break before going back into league play on January 7 in Rosamond.  It will be a much needed break as we have multiple kids battling colds and not feeling real great.  So this will be a nice little break for u...
