Baseball Recap: Bishop Union Starts off Right with Win over Del Oro
By Team Reports Source MaxPreps Bishop Union had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Del Oro Suns on Friday. The Broncos have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Suns, too. Ben Kemp looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Reuben Nicholson Hits (Career) 02/27/26 @ Del Oro 4
04/11/25 vs Boron 3
04/01/25 @ Rosamond 3
03/28/25 @ North 3
05/16/25 @ Foothill 2
On the hitting side, Will Kemp and Reuben Nicholson did most of the damage at the plate: Will went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Nicholson went a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Nicholson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Leeson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, ...

Bartimaeus The Blind Beggar
In my first year as a vice principal in 2006, I asked my principal what I needed to learn or do to become a principal. I have always been ambitious. At the time, my goal was clear — I wanted to build my tool belt and be ready when the opportunity came to be a principal. He told me, “The first thing you have to do is let people know what you want to do.” Fast forward twenty years. I’m sitting in church and my pastor is telling the story of Bartimaeus, the blind beggar. According to scripture, Bartimaeus wanted to see. When his moment came, he started shouting for help. The crowd tried to silence him, but he only yelled louder. Eventually, he was called forward. He threw off his coat, clearly stated what he wanted, and he received his sight. That sermon brought me right back to the advice I was given as a brand-new vice principal. Here are the lessons that stood out to me. - Use whatever you have. We all have skills and abilities. You are where you are be...

Congressman Kevin Kiley Invites Wife of Late Mule Days Legend to State of the Union Address
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Kiley (R-CA) will host Claudia Tanner as his guest at Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, honoring the life and legacy of her late husband, Bobby Tanner – a central figure in the history of Mule Days and a beloved member of the Eastern Sierra community. Bobby Tanner’s contributions to Mule Days are woven into the fabric of the event itself. As the son of Bob Tanner, one of Mule Days’ founders, Bobby was involved from the very first show in 1970, when at just 10 years old he led a pack string in the inaugural parade. Over the decades, he became one of the event’s most recognizable and celebrated figures. “Mule Days is an iconic part of the Eastern Sierra, and Bobby Tanner was at the very heart of it,” said Congressman Kiley. “His dedication, skill, and leadership helped build an event that brings people together from across the country and around the...

Bishop Bronco Wrestling February 22, 2026 By Dr. Mark Hodges This past Friday and Saturday, two Bishop Broncos took to the mat at the Central Section Master’s Championships in Fresno—the final hurdle before the State Tournament. Representing Bishop were freshman Mikey Valle at 113 pounds and senior Kano Graves at 165 pounds. To qualify for State, wrestlers had to finish in the top ten out of 32 competitors in their weight class. Mikey Valle—the first freshman in Bishop history to reach the Master’s Tournament—made an immediate statement by pinning his opening opponent in just 41 seconds. His second match came against the No. 2–ranked wrestler in California, and Mikey fell short. In his third match, he nearly secured a pin twice in a thrilling back‑and‑forth battle, but ultimately lost by points. At 165 pounds, Kano Graves opened his tournament with a dominant 15–0 technical fall in just over two minutes, then followed it with a pin over the No. 25–ranked wrestle...
