Traffic Advisory for the Week of 2/9/2026 to 2/13/2026


EASTERN KERN, INYO, and MONO COUNTIES - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announces the following project work and traffic impacts for the week of February 9 – February 13.

 

Work schedules are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials, and/or construction-related issues. 

 


New Traffic Impacts


 


Eastern Kern County


 

Keene Crack Seal Operation – On the westbound lanes of State Route 58 from the Keene Scales to Hart Flat Road, there will be intermittent lane closures while crews seal pavement cracks Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Drivers may experience brief delays.

Tehachapi Boulevard Ramp Closure – On State Route 58, the westbound Tehachapi Boulevard off-ramp will close while crews cut grooves to install reflective markings into the pavement on Thursday and Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Detours will be available.

Cummings Valley Pole Replacements – On State Route 202 between the western and eastern intersections of Cummings Valley Road near Tehachapi, utility crews will replace poles on Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. There will be one-way traffic control, and drivers may experience 10-minute delays.

 

 


Inyo County


 

Wye Road Pavement Work – On Wye Road, behind the Shell station, between U.S. 395 and U.S. 6, there will be one-way traffic control while maintenance crews repair the pavement today through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Drivers may experience brief delays.

 


Mono County


 

June Lake Utility Work – On State Route 158 (June Lake Loop) between North Shore Drive and Big Rock Road, utility crews will replace poles on Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. There will be one-way traffic control, and drivers may experience 10-minute delays.

Eastern Kern County


 

 

 

Tehachapi Culvert Cleaning – On State Route 58 from State Route 202 (Tucker Road) to the Broome Road overcrossing, the westbound outside lane and shoulder will close while crews clean culverts Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Drivers may experience brief delays.

 

 


Inyo County


 

Meadow Farms ADA Project – On the northbound lanes of U.S. 395, traffic is reduced to one lane from See Vee Lane to the bridge while crews construct sidewalk, curbs, and gutters. The southbound shoulder will close from Tu Su Lane to See Vee Lane next week while crews construct light pole foundations and erect the poles. All driveways remain accessible during construction. Bridge work over Bishop Creek will continue through the end of January. The speed limit within the work area is 25 mph. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. Drivers may experience brief delays.

Bishop Pavement Project – Sidewalk work is ongoing between Grove Street and the park on the northbound side of U.S. 395. Access to Elm Street from U.S. 395 is unavailable, but detours are available. On North Sierra Highway between Wye Road and See Vee Lane, traffic remains on the southbound lanes while crews install new box culverts under the northbound lanes and work on the curbs, gutters, and driveways for the new multi-use path. The speed limit is reduced to 35 mph from See Vee Lane to Wye Road. Caltrans continues to monitor the roadway and may temporarily stop traffic to implement fixes on the pavement. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. Drivers may experience brief delays.

Lone Pine Bulbouts Project – On U.S. 395 from Inyo Street to Post Street, the outside lane, shoulder, and sidewalks in both directions are closed while crews construct pedestrian bulbouts and a flashing pedestrian beacon at Muir Street. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. There is a sidewalk detour on the west side of the road, and businesses remain accessible throughout the project. Drivers may experience brief delays.

Death Valley Sign Work – On State Route 127 from Shoshone to the Nevada state line east of Death Valley National Park, the shoulders in both directions will close intermittently while crews install essential signage Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Drivers may experience brief delays.

Olancha-Cartago 4-Lane Project – On U.S. 395, from south of Olancha to north of Cartago, drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures in both directions as crews continue construction activities on the highway. The speed limit remains 55 mph through the project area.

 

The Olancha Cartago 4-Lane Project received $38.3 million, the Bishop Pavement Project received $18.36 million, and the Meadow Farms ADA Project received $13.56 million from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 (IIJA) – also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Under IIJA, California will receive an estimated $41.9 billion over five years. IIJA provides significant funding to rebuild California’s transportation system, including support to improve roadways, bridges, freight projects, public transportation, infrastructure safety enhancements, and to increase infrastructure resiliency to the impacts of severe weather and climate change. The Bishop Pavement Project received $2.4 million from Senate Bill (SB) 1.SB 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, provides $5 billion in transportation funding annually split between the state and local agencies. Road projects progress through construction phases more quickly based on the availability of SB 1 funds, including projects that are partially funded by SB 1.
