New Electronic Poll Book Digital Rosters (EPB Rosters)

Inyo County Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters Danielle Sexton would like to inform voters the Inyo County Elections Office will be using new Electronic Poll Book Digital Rosters (EPB Rosters) for

the March Election. These EPB Rosters have multiple security points to manage ballots and check in voters to vote in person. The EPB Rosters have real-time updates to our ballot- issuing software.

This change will mean the following for voters that would like to vote in person:

- Instead of signing the paper roster book at each Precinct Table, voters will check in and sign on the EPB Digital Roster at a Roster Table.

- When checking in, the EPB Roster will have the voter’s information and will indicate if the voter is eligible to vote, is at the correct location, and will confirm they have not yet voted by mail or in person at a different location.

- Once the voter signs the EPB Roster, their vote by mail ballot option will be automatically voided. As such, this resolves the need to surrender mailed ballots. Please note, we will still be collecting unused mailed ballots at each location if voters would like to surrender them upon voting in person.

- Biggest Change! Voters are now able to use their mailed ballot as their in-person ballot at any Inyo County Polling Place. For this, the voter must still check in with the Roster Table and confirm eligibility and sign the EPB Roster. The ballot header will be checked by election workers to confirm it matches the ballot type and precinct being issued in the EPB Roster.
