In recognition of June as Elder Abuse Awareness Month, the Inyo County Health & Human Services Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is inviting local senior citizens to two fun and educational events.

Free sessions of “Let’s Talk About Elder Abuse Awareness Bingo” will be offered on Tuesday, June 17 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bishop Senior Center, 628 Spruce St., and at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24 at the Lone Pine Senior Center, 138 N. Jackson St. The special guest caller for the Bishop round will be Bishop Police Department Chief Nate Derr. Sheriff Stephanie Rennie will do the honors in Lone Pine.

According to Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program Coordinator Paulette Erwin, the events are a chance to have fun while engaging in meaningful conversations about how to stay safe, informed, and connected. Prizes will include gift cards and thoughtful take-home goodies like safety items, self-care treats, and more.

To RSVP, call (760) 872-4128 or sign up at the Bishop or Lone Pine senior centers.
