Water District Plans Available for Review

The Mammoth Community Water District's Draft 2025 Urban Water Management Plan and 2026 Water Shortage Contingency Plan updates are available for review and comment.

Mammoth Lakes, California – The Mammoth Community Water District (MCWD) invites interested stakeholders to review and provide comments on a 20-year water supply outlook plan for the Town of Mammoth Lakes (Town). The intention of the 2025 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) is to ensure the availability of adequate reliable water supplies for the Town’s forecasted buildout. The UWMP discusses current and potential future water supplies and demands and actions to be taken in response to future drought conditions.

The District will also update the existing Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP) for consistency with the 2025 Urban Water Management Plan. The WSCP details how the District intends to act in the case of water shortage conditions. Stakeholders are also invited to review and provide comments on the Draft 2026 WSCP.

The Draft UWMP and WSCP are available on the District’s website https://mcwd.dst.ca.us/, the Mammoth Lakes Public Library, or at the District office located at 1315 Meridian Blvd., Mammoth Lakes. Public hearings to discuss the 2025 UWMP and the WSCP will be held at 5:30, May 21, 2026, at the District’s office, 1315 Meridian Blvd, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546, and via video/teleconference meeting. Please see the two attached Notices of Public Hearing for details on joining the public hearing or submitting comments.
