Sierra Atmospheric Forecast June 19th
Area Forecast Discussion

Owens Valley / Mammoth Lakes / Mono County / Death Valley

Dennis Mattinson / Sierra Atmospheric Forecaster

Synopsis - FRI JUN 19 2026 - Juneteenth

Right now RAP analysis shows an upper ridge over the region and a subtropical trough trailing it over the Pacific. As the day progresses, that trough will bump the ridge East and make its way over our area. This action will drop temps some ~5 degrees in our area by Saturday and kick up the PM breezes. After the weekend, that trough is kicked East by high pressure re-building again over our area. So next week, dry conditions continue along with temps returning to above normal by next Tuesday / Wednesday...MATT
