Inn Fire Update – May 29, 2025 The Inn Fire is now 82% contained. Fire behavior remains minimal, with smoldering and creeping observed in ground vegetation. Yesterday, crews focused on strengthening containment lines, especially on the west side of Highway 395, where handline construction is underway in steep, rugged terrain. The remaining uncontained areas include the high-elevation slopes and sections along the east side of Highway 395 near the roadway. On the west side, handline construction is progressing slowly due to limited access and dense fuels. Pockets of heat remain in the western tip of the fire and within the central interior east of Highway 395. Firefighters are continuing mop-up operations, working over 100 feet in from the fire’s edge to ensure the perimeter is secure. Mop-up involves using water or hand tools to stir and cool residual heat, ensuring hidden embers and hotspots are extinguished to prevent flare-ups as conditions are expected to be warmer and drier. Request for Public Assistance Regarding Missing Person The Inyo County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance regarding a reported missing person. In early February of this year, the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office and the Death Valley National Park Service located a vehicle in a remote area just outside of Death Valley called Slab City, which is private property. Their own policy states that “any biological female that would have earned the next qualifying mark” must be granted a special exemption just to make it to State.   Tangipa issued the following statement: “This pilot program is an admission that opportunities are being stolen from female athletes.
